In 1950 Egyptian jews had to flee the country after president Naser gave the order. The Mansoura family had to pack everything and head to the United States to be safe. They left behind a pastry legacy in Egypt, but their love for the craft never went away. When they settled in New York they opened another pastry shop with the same name, Mansoura and 60 years later, Mansoura Patisserie is one of the most famous middle eastern bakeries in New York.
