What does it take for a rural water project to become a success? A robust and environmentally friendly technical solution is a must, but the social and organizational aspects must also be built around it to ensure maintenance and operation for many years to come.

The Foundation supports UN Sustainable Development Goal number 6: To ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. We work with rural communities, as this is where the greatest need can be found. Rural areas are home to 80% of the world’s people without access to water, 90% of those without sanitation, and 70% of those who defecate in the open.
