Vox is a dh+ production that premiered January 16th and 17th 2019 at STUK in Leuven. Vox unites three strong artistic voices from three distinct disciplines: electronic music, visual arts and choreography. Electronic musician and composer Zoë McPherson, Croatian stage and costume designer Zdravka Kirigin, and choreographer David Hernandez push the boundaries of their crafts, and through experimentation with dancers Colas Lucot, Marie Viennot and Anna Kempin, many voices combine into one powerful, polyphonic and transdisciplinary show.
“A lively transgression of the border between dance and music, sustained until the wailing sirens emerge, tuning the energetically charged bodies of the dancer trio before they gently shift to spoken phrases. The.. audience, seated along three sides of the stage, vehemently applauded the clever combination of theatrical lines of sight and sound with fervent clapping and stamping feet.”
Choreography: David Hernandez / Set design: Zdravka Kirigin / Music: Zoë McPherson / Lights: Yvan De Meyer / Costume Assistance: Ana Fucijaš / Dance: Anna Kempin, Colas Lucot, Marie Viennot
